Miss Jorden is no stanger to the school as she has worked  here as a supply teacher and has already got to know her new class having spent some time with them last half term.

Some views on year 3 by some of the children.

"In Year 3 you will go to Robin Hoods Bay.

You will see lots of  sea creatures in the rock pools.

We went in a tunnel that was used by smugglers, it was long and dark.

We ate our lunch outside it was fun, it was the best school trip I have ever been on."

By Rosie.

"In year 3 you will go on a farm trip. You will see horses and see sheep being shaved. We got to go in a secret garden. The garden was hidden behind a wall.  Also you will go into a barly field.

i liked it when we got to sit in the well."

Another of the topics the children studied was World War Two. All the children enjoyed this topic.  They experienced  how it would have felt to be evacuated, wrote about the Bliz and spend the day at Eden Camp, This was a prisoner of war camp, for Italian prisoners during the war and is now a wonderful museum. The huts, all themed, bring  the war to life.

Comments from the  year 3 children.

"Eden Camp is a world war 2 camp it shows you what life was like 70 years ago in the war.

You will learn lots here"

"It was great, but some of the huts made me scared."

"I liked our trip to Eden Camp, Best of all I liked the puppet show, We all got wet, when they squirted  us with water it was  cool"

Another highlight is Roman day.

"On Roman day we made lamps out of clay,  and did lots of activities. A  lady came to talk to us about life as a Roman."

" I got to dress up as a Roman. It was funny".

"I liked the lady she came dressed as a Roman and told us all about what it was like to be a Roman."

"In our first term in year 3 we led the Harvest Festival Assembly, which was all about dinosours. We sang a song about them and showed a cartoon on the big screen."

One of the last things we did was have a puppet workshop. We were shown how to work them and we got to try them out. There was one really naughty puppet who did everything wrong. we all laughed at his tricks. We had lots and lots of fun that morning.

"Boris is our year 3 pet. He is a guinea pig and he lives in a hutch in the corridor. On sunny days we put his hutch outside so that he can enjoy the warm weather. Boris likes  titbits like carrots, dandelion leaves and apple cores. Just check with a teacher before you give him anything to eat. At weekends and school holidays he goes home with an adult. Mrs Sill is his Mummy!"

"This is a picture of  Frazer Bear. If we have done some good work we can take him home for the week end.
